Vegetarianism is becoming a widespread trend in many lifestyles. There are lots of vegetarian restaurants opening its door for the people of Kolkata. The newest addition to this trend is Zaairah . Located just opposite of City Center-1 in Salt lake this fine dinning restaurant is really a must visit place. With all the wooden interiors and comfortable seating arrangements to its soothing music , this gem of a place will never fail to amaze you with its charm. We the Bloggers from PanchPhoron got an exclusive opportunity to try out some their signature dishes. All the dishes they prepared were outstanding and finger-licking.
We started our food journey with some extraordinary smoothies like Strawberry Litchi Fizz, Drunken Oreo Madness and Kitkat Sundae.
The smoothies were thick and very tasty with proper consistency. Followed by some Kick-ass Mocktails such as Watermelon Mojito, Ginger Rock Salt Delight and Chili Guava. out of these 3 mocktails my recommendation would be Chili Guava and Ginger Rock Salt Delight. The drinks had a nice punch to them and the balance of the ingredients were spot on.
For the starters there were —
Khichidi Arancini : A crispy fried ball made from the mixture of khichidi and dried spices with coriander leaves and served on the bed of tomato relish.
Tartar Tots : Its also a deep fried snack made from mashed potato and cheese and crumb fried till golden brown. Served with a sweet chili sauce.
Basil Pesto Panner Tikka : Big cubes of Paneer (Cottage Cheese) marinated in the mixture of fresh basil pase and pesto sauce and then grilled in the tandoor (Clay Oven) for that smokey outer layer. served with the traditional green chutney.
Motilal Badami Aloo : Boiled potato scooped and stuffed with the mixture of cottage cheese, and curd and then grilled. Garnished with Coriander leaves and served with green chutney and salad.
Babycorn Takrai : This a very unique dish with lots of modern touch to it. Baby corn are first deep fried and then tossed in the mixture of dried red chili, bay leaves, coriander and lime leaves. They were perfectly cooked and was very crispy.
For the main course there were quite a few dishes like the traditional Veg Lasagna, Spaghetti Aglio Olio
and form the Indian section there was Aloo Gobi Adraki, Kadai Paneer, Malai Kofta, Peas Pulao and Dal Makhani with some freshly prepared Peshwari Naan and Potato Cheese Kulcha.
Out of all these dishes the Malai Kofta and Veg Lasagna was my favourite.
They ended their lavish spread with a classic Cheese Cake and it was mind-blowing. The silky smooth texture with a slight tanginess from the blueberry really made it a super hit. A highly recommended dish for you all to try.
The staffs were really well behaved and extremely courteous. Service was fast. Management was nice and very welcoming. Thanks to Zaariah for inviting TeamPanchPhorn.
